Andraya Carter

2023 Excellence in Broadcasting Honoree

The award will be presented at a virtual ceremony Thursday April 6th.

Andraya Carter joined ESPN in 2018 as a basketball analyst & reporter. Over the past five years, Carter has established herself as one of the rising stars of ESPN’s comprehensive basketball coverage.

In addition to her studio and commentating roles on both women’s college basketball and the WNBA, she has added college football sideline reporting to her repertoire, as well as co-hosting the weekly studio show Out of Pocket on SEC Network. Andraya is currently one of only two college sports reporters at ESPN who are sideline reporters for college football and studio/game analysts for another sport.

Carter made her debut in the men’s basketball game as an analyst in G-League action in 2020, and has quickly risen to become a prominent and respected voice in the men’s game. Carter is the lead sideline reporter on ESPN’s Big Monday college basketball coverage and the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament. In 2022, Carter made her NBA announcing debut, working as a pre & postgame analyst for the Brooklyn Nets on YES Network.

The Flowery Branch, Ga. native is a double graduate of The University of Tennessee and was a three-year women’s basketball letterwinner for the Lady Vols. Carter was also recently named to The Athletic’s 40 Under 40: Rising Stars in Women’s Basketball, and named the 2022 NSMA Best Young Sports Reporter.
